Montessori Sensorial Materials at Home

    The sensorial materials are designed to educate the senses and are a preparation for math.

Here are three ways you can promote sensorial learning at home:

1. Explore different scents in your spice drawer or cabinet. Have your child sort the spices by scents he/she likes and those he/she does not.

2. Find everyday objects that are geometric solid shapes.

3. Sort everyday objects by size. For example, you can sort spoons in the kitchen drawer into small, medium, and large spoons.
