Montessori Chores at Home

Children learn through participating in everyday tasks alongside their families. Taking on age-appropriate chores beyond putting away toys promotes independence. Here are five chores even very young children can try:

  1. Matching/folding socks

  2. Folding washcloths

  3. Dusting

  4. Sweeping with a child-sized broom

  5. Washing windows with a non-toxic spray and a squeegee.
