Montessori believed that, “The greatest gifts we can give our children are the roots of responsibility and the wings of independence.” Allowing your child to do as much as possible by his/her self will help your child’s growing need for independence. Try building time into your day to allow your child the extra time he/she may need to do things like, buttoning, zipping, and tying independently.
